                  <item id="stretchnote80">The route linework here has a curious appearance, but the reason is clear. The copyist continued it as a second stretch under the distance figure (placed lower than the name) and then, unnecessarily, even beyond to the gulf. Thereafter he had to make a right angle to continue the route down the left side of the gulf. Hence what is notionally a single Phenica stretch is in fact represented by three.</item>
