Sideways placement of the name, well separated from its distance figure, is a surprise. The purpose is no doubt to accommodate the route linework, but it would still have been feasible to draw this lower down and place the name horizontally. Was the name at first omitted in error perhaps, and then added later after the drawing of the linework ?
