How to teach very young learners… successfully

How to teach very young learners… successfully

Date: Tuesday 8 December

Time: 15:00

How can you make teaching young learners more rewarding and fun - for both your students and yourself? Herbert Puchta has the answer, with some practical tips that'll liven up your classes and get your students enjoying learning.

He'll be sharing his 6 principles and 12 key strategies for teaching English to very young learners. Examples will be taken from Super Safari, Herbert’s new course for pre-school children (co-written with Peter Lewis-Jones and Gunter Gerngross).

Herbert Puchta has a Ph.D. in ELT Pedagogy from the University of Graz, Austria, and is currently Professor of English at the Teacher Training University in Graz. He has been a plenary speaker at a number of international conferences, and has conducted workshops and given seminars in over 30 countries. Herbert is a Master Practitioner in Neuro Linguistic Programming. For almost two decades, he has carried out research into the practical application of findings from cognitive psychology to the teaching of English as a foreign language. Herbert has co-authored numerous course books for the teaching of English as a foreign language, as well as articles and resource books. His latest course books are Super Safari, Super Minds, and Cambridge English Empower, published by Cambridge University Press.
