Summary

For those who study Irish history, literature and culture, the revolutionary years loom large and cast a long shadow upon the culture and politics of twentieth- and twenty-first-century Ireland. In the wake of centenaries of the Dublin Lock-out, the First World War and the Easter Rising, there have been hundreds of activities in Ireland and in Irish diasporic communities around the world: ceremonies, parades, street festivals, concerts, radio, television and film programs, theatrical productions, educational programming, conferences, exhibitions, openings of archives and publications.
