Digital pathology incorporation in CPT codes: a gateway for expansion into clinical practice?

Abstract

Digital pathology is a field that is penetrating clinical practice and medicine with increasing power. That is why recently, for the first time in history, practices from this discipline have been incorporated into Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) codes. This fact has a direct impact on computational pathology and could be the capstone to promote the immersion of algorithms in clinical diagnosis.
