Climate and Green Education

At Cambridge, we understand the importance of education for climate action. Education equips current and future generations with the knowledge and skills they need to address climate-related challenges, both locally and globally. By understanding the origins and impacts of climate change, learners can develop effective policies and innovative technologies to save our planet. Building learners’ green skills, such as expertise in environmental occupations, resilience and environmental stewardship, will better prepare them for the future of life and work.

We will work with you to embed this knowledge and understanding across all your subjects, where relevant. This approach will help learners to develop not only knowledge about climate change, but also the values, attitudes and skills to understand and address it.

Our approach focuses on coherence to ensure careful progression in learning, avoid unintended repetition between subjects, and ensure a genuine contribution from each discipline’s strengths. We will also support you in regularly reviewing and updating curriculums as new research and policies on climate change become available, and in training teachers and leaders to help them become more confident with content and pedagogy.

Our partnerships are strengthened by access to the University of Cambridge’s wide network of climate change experts and the very latest education, climate and sustainability research. This includes the Cambridge Zero initiative, which researches and develops climate solutions that work for individuals, society and economies.

Together, we can help prepare learners for a world impacted by climate change.
