World holiday quiz

Time: 10–15 minutes
Activity type: Quiz information gap
Preparation: Click here to download the Talking point activity.
Make one copy of Talking point 12 for every two students. Cut in half.

  1. Give half the class the Student A handout and the other half the Student B handout.
  2. Have students walk around and ask one another the questions on the game board to find out the answers. When students find an answer, they should write it on the game board and move on to ask another student the next question. When students do not know the answer, they may say, I’m sorry. I don’t know.
  3. When students have finished, have them compare answers in pairs.
  4. Ask students to share any additional information they know about the holidays and customs in the quiz.
