Series CoversTalking Points       Level 1: Unit 14

Find the differences.

Time: 15–20 minutes
Activity type: Finding picture differences
Preparation: Click here to download the Talking point activity.
Make one copy of Talking point 14 for every two students. Cut in half.

  1. Have students form pairs. Give one student the Student A handout and the other the Student B
    handout.
  2. Explain the activity. Students have ten minutes to describe their pictures and find as many differences as possible. For example:
S1: My house has a living room.
S2: My house has a living room, too.
S1: Is there a sofa in your living room?
    S1: Yes. And there’s a fireplace.
    S2: My house doesn’t have a fireplace.
Students should write down the differences they find.
  3. After ten minutes, ask students how many differences they found. Then have students compare their pictures and look for any differences they missed.
