Match it!

Time: 15–20 minutes

Preparation: Click here to download the Talking point activity.
Make one copy of Talking point 2 for every three students. Cut into cards.

1. Have students form groups of three. Give each group one set of cards.
2. Ask students to shuffle the cards and place them all facedown, keeping the picture and word cards separate.
3. The first student turns over two cards. If the picture matches the word, the student uses the word in a sentence and keeps the cards. The student then turns over two more cards. If the cards do not match, they are turned facedown and the next student turns over two cards, trying to make a match.
4. Students continue turning over and matching cards until all the cards are gone.
5. The student with the most pairs at the end wins.
