Movie clues

Time: 15–20 minutes
Activity type: Guessing game
Preparation: Click here to download the Talking point activity.
Make one copy of Talking point 8 for every four students. Cut into cards.

1. Have students form two groups of two. Place the cards facedown between the two pairs.
2. Explain the activity. Each pair wants his or her own partner to guess the movie on the card. Two
   students take turns giving one-word clues to their partners. They give clues until someone guesses
   correctly. For example, for Titanic:
   S1: Boat.
   S2: Is it Speed 2?
   S3: No, sorry. My turn. Sink.
   S4: Is it Poseidon?
   S1: Sorry. My turn again. Ice.
   S2: Oh, I know. It’s Titanic!
3. Continue until everyone has a chance to give clues for several movies.
