Time: 10–15 minutes
Activity type: Reading and discussion
Preparation: Click here to download the Talking point activity.
Make one copy of Talking point 14 for every two students.

  1. Have students form pairs. Give each pair one handout.
  2. Have students read the article. Answer any questions about unfamiliar vocabulary.
  3. Have pairs form groups of four and discuss the questions. Encourage students to ask follow-up questions and share their own opinions.
  4. When groups have finished their discussions, take a class poll to find out what students feel are the top-five important factors for having a happy life.
