Make one copy of Talking point 16 for every two students. Cut into cards.

  1. Divide the class in half. One group consists of company managers, and the other group job candidates. Divide the managers’ group in half and distribute the two Manager cards evenly. Then give one Candidate card to each job candidate.
  2. The managers will interview the candidates for the job on their card. First, they should fill in the skills needed and write four interview questions.
  3. The candidates list the skills they have for both jobs and then write any questions they have.
  4. The managers stay seated while the candidates walk around and go to interviews. Managers should interview three candidates and make notes on each person’s answers to the questions.
  5. Then managers decide which candidate to hire.
