A. Do you receive visitors or make business visits yourself? How do you accept or refuse politely? Read the grammar notes in the box. Here are some possible phrases:

Teacher's notes: This activity is designed to give your students an opportunity to practice saying 'no' politely. Ask them how they would reply themselves to check they know the language they need. Afterwards you could get them to make up excuses of their own to consolidate what they have learnt.
