What is Multimedia Fluid Mechanics Online?
Multimedia Fluid Mechanics Online (MFMO) is the perfect complement to any course in Fluid Mechanics. This online product combines original content from the DVD edition with a new interface optimized for all major browsers and operating systems. Simulations and videos have been remastered to run without plug-ins and the text is now MathJax-enabled for the best learning experience online.
How do I find pages from the DVD on the website?
Page numbers are displayed in the menu, alongside page titles, for easy reference, and can also be used for searching content – type in a page number in the search bar and press enter.
Will any new content be added to MFMO?
This product is upgradable and we are considering the addition of new content in the near future.
How do I cite or reference content from MFMO?
Each individual page of content includes a ‘Cite’ button. Click the button for a pop-up to display the citation in APA style for that particular page.
What has changed from the previous DVD version of MFMO?
All the videos and interactives present in the DVD edition are included in this website and have been remastered to run without plug-ins, and the text is now MathJax-enabled for the best learning experience online, with a new interface optimized for all major browsers and operating systems.

These are for your own personal use and cannot be shared.
Does the Video Library include content not listed in the modules?
Yes the Video Library includes over 400 videos not listed in the modules.
How can I search across all the content of the website?
You can use the search bar in the homepage or in the header of the website to search all content across the website, and including content pages and videos from the video library.

How do I log in to my account? 

1. Click on the white 'login' button in the top right hand corner of Multimedia Fluid Mechanics Online, or hover over the account icon and select ‘login’

2. Click ‘Cambridge Core’ on the pop-up window

3. Click the large blue ‘Log In’ button

4. Enter your username and password to complete the log in process

Does the Video Library include content not listed in the modules?
Yes the Video Library includes over 400 videos not listed in the modules.
How do I view my account details? 
Firstly ensure you are logged in, then click the account icon on the top-right corner of your screen for selecting ‘My Account’ from the drop menu to access your account on Cambridge Core.
How do I change my password?
In your account area, select “My account settings” then select the “Change password” tab and enter your current and new password in the appropriate fields. When you are finished, click Save.
How do I reset my password?

If you need to reset your Cambridge Core user account password please follow the instructions below.

Click this link to be taken to the Forgotten Password page.

1. Enter your e-mail address on the ‘Registered email’ box

2. Click Send Email

3. You will receive an email with a link to reset your password.

4. If you do not receive an email within 1 hour please check your junk/spam box in your email client.

Can I log in to Multimedia Fluid Mechanics Online with my Cambridge Core account?

Under ‘personal details’, update the ‘email address’ field and click ‘save’. Your email address will now be updated. Next time you log in to Cambridge Core, you will need to use this new email address.

How do I access content available to my University or other organisation?

Your Organisation or Institution may have access to Multimedia Fluid Mechanics Online. If they have then you can access content using a variety of access methods available. Depending on what configuration your Organisation's or Institution's has provided to us the access methods may vary. We always recommend contacting your librarian first to check the preferred access method for your organisation/institution.   

Accessing Via IP Address

1. If your Organisation or Institution has enabled IP Address access and you are accessing at the correct location then the contentour Organisation or Institution's content will be available.

2. You can verify you have access by hovering your mouse over the ‘Access provided by’ next to the Help / Account icon at the top of the screen.

Accessing Via Institutional Log In

Institutional Log In allows you to log in using your Organisation or Institution's account.  If your organisation has not requested their account to be configured to use Institutional Log In then this log in method will result in an error.

1. Click on the Log In button

2. Click the Login Options page select Log In via Shibboleth or Athens button

3. On the Select An identify Provider page either select your Organisation / Institution from the list and click Select. You can also use the Search box to locate your organisation and select from the results

4. You will be taken to your Organisation login page.  Log in with your username and password as provided by your Organisation or Institution

5. Once you log in you will be returned to Multimedia Fluid Mechanics Online

6. You can verify you have access by hovering your mouse over the ‘Access provided by’ next to the Help / Account icon at the top of the screen.

How can I access the website off campus?

Follow the login journey and select logging in with your institutional details via Shibboleth or Athens, as described in the above FAQ.

How do I request / create an organisation account

If you represent an organisation that wishes to manage and deliver Multimedia Fluid Mechanics Online throughout your institution then you can request an organisation account which grants additional functions such as different access methods to control authentication, reports related to your bibliographic entitlements and usage reporting. How do I set up my EZ Proxy configuration?

In order to set up EZ Proxy access to Cambridge Core, you need to use the domain name: https://cambridge.org/core

How do I configure IP access for my organisation? 

You can review your IP addresses by following the steps below.

1. Log-In to Multimedia Fluid Mechanics Online using your username and password.

2.Hover over the account icon and click on My Account in the drop menu

3.Under Organisation Home on the left hand side select Access and Authentication

4.You will see your organisation's IP addresses listed under the IP Addresses tab. You will see Authorised IP Addresses and Blocked IP Addresses

5.To make changes to IP addresses please submit a diagnostics form to our Technical Support Team.

How do I add a remote user to my institution?
If you are a user of Cambridge Core and you wish to request remote user access please consult your Librarian or appropriate person to contact Cambridge University Press. Administrators of organisational accounts can request to add Remote Users by submitting a diagnostics form to our Technical Support Team.
