This Journal has for a number of years included a section on Contemporary Practice of the United States relating to International Law. This section will continue to appear and will be prepared by the author of this note. It will contain a selection of the material which will later appear in the annual digest of U.S. practice, the publication of which is announced in a subsequent page of this note. A number of other journals contain like compilations of current state practice; see e.g., Canadian Practice in International Law in Canadian Yearbook of International Law; Pratique Français du Droit International in the Annuaire Francais de Droit International; ’Partie Documentaire, Droit International Public in the Annuaire Suisse de Droit International; Annual Review of Japanese Practice in International Law in The Japanese Annual of International Law; and Völkerrechtliche Praxis der Bundesrepublik Deutschland in Zeitschrift für Auslandisches Öffentliches Recht und Völkehrecht.

The Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe adopted on June 28, 1968, a “model plan for the classification of documents concerning state practice in the field of public international law” (Resolution (68) 17).
