Tea has therapeutic potential in weight and glucose control, as a photo-protective agent for skin and to promote oral health.
However, in all these areas the clinical evidence is preliminary and more trials are definitely needed. Despite the potential for some side-effects, such as interfering with iron absorption, tea seems to be safe at normal intake levels.
