A Phlebotomine sandfly, morphologically closely related to Lutzomyia tuberculatus Mangabeira, 1941, caught in Surinam (Dutch Guiana) is described as new and is named Lutzomyia munangai ap. nov. Illustrations are given of the male genitalia.
