A BIOLOGICAL STUDY OF NEPTICULA MACROCARPAE (LEPIDOPTERA: NEPTICULIDAE) ON OAK IN ONTARIO

Abstract

Nepticula macrocarpae Freeman, a recently described leaf miner on oak in southern Ontario, is bivoltine, and overwinters as a cocooned larva on the ground. The immature stages are described and nine species of chalcid parasites are listed.

Résumé

Une Mineuse récemment décrité, Nepticula macrocarpae Freeman, infeste les feuilles de Chênes dans le sud de l’Ontario. Elle est bivoltine et elle hiverne sous forme de larve en cocon dans le sol. Description des oeufs et des formes juvéniles, et énumération de neuf Chalcididés y associés.
