Carga familiar: un estudio comparativo en familiares de esquizofrénicos y de personas con retraso mental

Resumen

Se comparó la configuración de la carga familiar en 32 familiares de pacientes esquizofrénicos y 32 familiares de personas con retraso mental utilizando una entrevista semiestructurada estandarizada llamada “Accertamento della Disabilitá e del Canco Familiare” (Evaluación de la Discapacidad y la Carga Familiar). Hubo pocas diferencias cuantitativas entre las dos muestras, aunque los familiares de esquizofrénicos presentaron una tendencia a un grado más alto de carga tanto objetiva como subjetiva en algunas áreas. La presencia de sufrimiento emocional, relaciones sociales pobres y falta de vacaciones o actividades de tiempo libre fueron problemas comunicados con frecuencia. Los familiares de esquizofrénicos mencionaron específicamente la presencia de dificultades económicas, mientras que los familiares de personas con retraso mental estaban preocupados por problemas con los vecinos.
