Cuestiones éticas en psiquiatría europea

Resumen

Los psiquiatras europeos y los planificadores de servicios psiquiátricos se enfrentan a nuevos dilemas éticos como resultado directo o indirecto de la integración europea. Estos dilemas se presentan en diversos niveles, que van desde la relación individual médico-paciente hasta las legislaciones nacional e internacional. Revisamos algunas de las áreas en las que pueden surgir cuestiones éticas como resultado de la creciente unidad europea. Algunas de las cuestiones pueden parecer menores, pero es probable que tengan ciertas repercusiones sobre cualquier psiquiatra expuesto a la práctica transcultural en la Unión Europea. Se ha seleccionado otros ejemplos no porque sean frecuentes, sino debido a sus ramificaciones éticas masivas. Los intentos de psiquiatras de abordar estas cuestiones activamente son escasos y distantes.
