[The Treaty entered into force on March 18, 1981, thirty days after the instrument of ratification was received from the third country, Paraguay. Uruguay and Argentina have also ratified the Treaty. The Latin American Integration Association (LAIA) replaces the Latin American Free Trade Association (LAFTA). Documents concerning LAFTA carried in I.L.M. appear at 4 I.L.M. 682 and 761 (1965), 5 I.L.M. 125 (1966), and 7 I.L.M. 747 and 851 (1968).]
