111. “Schengen regime” represents a system of border controls at the outer borders of states that were admitted into the Schengen Agreement Regime that was signed in Schengen, Luxembourg, in 1992. The signatories accepted the abolition of persons and customs controls at the borders among signatories. At the same time they decided on increased level of controls at so-called outer borders.
