En su Asamblea del 29 de abril de 1993, el Comité Internacional de la Cruz Roja eligió a dos nuevos miembros: la señora Lilian Uchtenhagen y el señor Georges-André Cuendet.

Lilian Uchtenhagen, nacida en 1928 y oriunda de Sissach (Basilea-Campaña), es doctora en ciencias económicas. Cursó sus primeros estudios en Olten y en Neuchâtel y los universitarios en Basilea y Londres. La señora Uchtenhagen fue miembro del Consejo Nacional suizo de 1971 a 1991.
