El Comité Internacional de la Cruz Roja ha reconocido oficialmente a la Media Luna Roja de Kirguizistán. Con este reconocimiento, que surte efectos desde el 19 de marzo de 1997, asciende a 171 el número de Sociedades Nacionales miembros del Movimiento Internacional de la Cruz Roja y de la Media Luna Roja.
