We have selected the Manifesto Project as the winner of the software award this year. We had four nominations, including some strong contenders. This work is very strong in that it allows easy access to a large corpus of text on political parties in more than 50 democracies. The corpus itself is annotated and the software allows easy access through a twitter-like API or an R library.
