A Discussion of Flow Mechanisms in Superplastic Yttria-Stabilized Tetragonal Zirconia

Abstract

Flow data are reported for a superplastic yttria-stabilized tetragonal zirconia containing 3 mol % of Y2O3 (termed 3Y-TZP). The data are analyzed using a model for interface-controlled diffusion creep and the results are compared with published data for other samples of 3Y-TZP.
