Refluxing chromium (III) acetate with a Na+-montmorillonite suspension gives rise to the intercalation of linear Cr(III) polyhydroxo-acetate oligomers. Thermally stable chromia pillared mont-morillonite materials are obtained upon calcination under ammonia up to 625°C, and basal expansions up to 6 Å are maintained. The porous materials retain high surface areas (366–464 m2 g−1), a micropore volume of 0.1 cm3 g−1 and narrow pore size distributions centered between 7.5 and 12 Å. The most thermally stable materials in air were those prepared under ammonia at 625°C, containing NH4+ as the exchangeable ion.

Summary
INTRODUCTION: A BODY OF LAW IN THE MAKING AGAINST AN AMBIVALENT FRAMEWORK
This chapter deals with a new form of international financial law: Eurozone rescue mechanisms. This regime stems from the financial assistance granted to Greece, Ireland, Portugal, Spain and Cyprus. To cope with the European debt crisis, this innovative body of law is being developed by different groups of EU Member States together with the EU institutions. The end product of the process may be either synthesis or fragmentation of the existing legal framework.
The following review is by no means a complete one because it does not discuss the law relating to financial market regulation and supervision, i.e. the European banking union.
However, the legal responses to the crisis are very interesting from an international law perspective. Firstly, there is the characterisation of the obligations set out in the agreements on pooled bilateral loans for Greece: are they international law obligations, or rather contracts subject to national law? These instruments set a certain pattern for other agreements to follow, under the mechanisms relating to Ireland, Portugal, Spain and Cyprus. Secondly, there is the role played by the European Financial Stability Facility (EFSF) as a public limited liability company incorporated in Luxembourg, which was also a party to an interstate agreement. Thirdly, there is the legal nature of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) established in Article 2(1) of the 2010 EFSF Framework Agreement (such as Spain's MOU on financial sector policy conditionality), as well as the MOU set out in Article 13 of the European Stability Mechanism (ESM) Treaty.
EU law interacts with international law. It must be taken into account that the set of European arrangements concluded between the Member States to face the financial crisis are subject to the CJEU's jurisdiction in accordance with Article 273 TFEU. In fact, the CJEU rendered a pragmatic judgment on 27 November 2012 in the Pringle case, which upheld the establishment of a stability mechanism for Member States whose currency is the euro.

Summary
Abstract:
We present a Cultural Heritage data model built under the European INSPIRE Directive. This model extends the Data Specification on Protected Sites -one of the reference spatial data themes of the INSPIRE Annex I- through the development of cultural issues by means of new classes and attributes. The aim is to achieve an interoperable schema that allows organising and sharing georeferenced cultural heritage information via Spatial Data Infrastructures. This involves the use of standards and norms about several topics, such as geographic information, cultural heritage and documentary resources. The data model includes three parts: 1) a legal part about the administrative definition of protected sites, 2) a cultural part devoted to the description of the cultural entities that are subject of valuation and protection, and 3) a documentary part for the inclusion of information resources (texts, images and so on) about these cultural entities.

Introduction: INSPIRE, Protected Sites and Cultural Heritage
This paper presents a proposal of application schema about cultural heritage under the INSPIRE Directive (Directive 2007/2/EC), which establishes an Infrastructure for Spatial Information in the European Community. We use the term application schema in the way INSPIRE does, as the formal description of a conceptual data model about a certain part of the real world.
This model develops the INSPIRE Data Specification on Protected Sites (INSPIRE Thematic Working Group Protected Sites 2010) for the topic of cultural features. According to INSPIRE principles, the background objective is to provide a basic interoperable framework for describing, organising and sharing georeferenced information to institutions devoted to the management and research of cultural heritage.
The INSPIRE Directive addresses several thematic areas of spatial information, fixed in 34 spatial data themes distributed in three annexes. One of these themes is Protected Sites, defined as “area designated or managed within a framework of international, Community and Member States’ legislation to achieve specific conservation objectives” (Directive 2007/2/EC, 11). It is included in Annex I, which means that it is considered as reference data and so it is priority in its development.

Investigation of an outbreak of multiresistant Pseudomonas aeruginosa urinary tract infections within our hospital identified the urodynamic laboratory as the point source. Disinfection procedures were inadequate, and transducers designated for single-patient use were used repeatedly and subsequently became contaminated. These improper procedures were part of a cost-containment effort.

A new strategy to prepare alumina pillared α-zirconium phosphate with enhanced surface area and narrow pore size distribution is reported. The required precursor, a highly expanded single phase intercalate, is obtained in two steps. In the first one, the oligomeric solution of aluminium, prepared by dissolving aluminium in a solution of A1C13 at 95°C, is contacted with colloidal α-zirconium phosphate under reflux, in the presence of fluoride. Subsequently, the resulting intercalation compound is treated again with a diluted solution of fluoride under hydrothermal conditions at 200°C. It is thought that fluoride ions complex aluminium monomers present in the pillaring solutions, and remove aluminium from the external surface of the phosphate. The pillared materials obtained by calcination in the range 400-600°C present BET surface areas between 184-140 m2g−1 and basal spacings between 17.3-15.4 Å. These results contrast with those reported using classical methods, which systematically lead to materials with BET surface areas <80m2g−1.
