Abstract
Treatment of 2,6-dimethyl-1,1′-biphenyl-substituted chlorosilane with potassium followed by FeBr2/TMEDA led to the formation of an iron(II) monobromide complex supported by a TMEDA ligand and a carbanion-based ligand containing a six-membered silacycle-bridged biphenyl skeleton. The obtained complex crystalized as a racemic mixture of (Sa, S) and (Ra, R) forms, in which the dihedral angle of the two phenyl rings of the biphenyl moiety was ~43°.
