Abstract
Here we demonstrate the transformative potential of integrating fluorescent motifs within an anionophoric central scaffold. This modification yielded a library of receptors with superior anion binding abilities and highly potent H+/Cl- activity was recorded. In vitro investigations showed that the newly developed library was no longer toxic to tumorigenic cells but could trigger unprecedented phenotypes in the context of synthetic anion transporters.
