Abstract

The recent advancements in 11 group metal-organic chalcogenolates (MOCs) based materials raise questions about the preparation of MOC films. In this research, we demonstrate that polymeric [Ag(S-Arf)]n (Arf = perfluorinated aryl group) can be dissolved in pyridine and its homologues (py-R). These solutions can be used to process [Ag(S-Arf)]n using different methods. Crystallization from these solutions produces a new type of MOCs, [(py-R)Ag(S-Arf)]n, that are here systematically characterized by structural, spectroscopic, and computational techniques.
