Abstract

The bagoong production of Brgy. Maniboc was assessed for viability of its local practices, the scientific processes involved, and its status at the level of the firm. Four bagoong firms were interviewed and examined namely RNA Bagoong, PG Bagoong, PECE Special Bagoong, and DS Bagoong Products. The data gathered from the owners of each firm were analyzed in accordance with the framework of production process of a firm, the use of production function, and cost-return analysis to evaluate each firm regarding their performance as a bagoong producer. The study shows that the bagoong producers in Brgy. Maniboc are profitable but the researchers recommend that the local government must give focus on the supply of fish that the bagoong producers have been buying from other provinces.
