Abstract
This paper critically explores ongoing Human Resource Management (HRM) practices in different organizations operational across Bangladesh while focusing on the key HR functions such as recruitment, training, performance appraisal, compensation, and employee relations. Based on secondary data and a few empirical studies, the article highlights the present status of HRM in corporate world of Bangladesh. This paper aims to identify the gaps, challenges, and strategic implications of HRM in both multinational and local companies. At the end this paper concludes with a set of possible recommendations for improving HR practices to foster organizational performance and employee satisfaction in the context of globalization, technological advancement and rapidly changing competitive economic environment.
