Abstract

Matter, along with Space, Time, and Energy, is one of the components of the Physical world. Let's examine how the Mind grasps its qualities and transformations, deriving many sentiments of Psyche. The primary response is always to possess and be in contact with what brings Pleasure and ward off Pain, but there are many objects, and so is the drive to know and use them, which we do extensively through play. To discover how each object has a quantity of matter or mass, but also a casing that can be closed or opened, and in this case the substance can enter or exit. But certain objects and substances are important to an animal—the goods and resources of its territory—as they are to every human. These are the goods, commodities, and money it needs, which belong to it and are its property. Therefore, in this material sphere, the Ego is motivated by the feeling of Possessiveness over what it possesses, and Control to manage and exchange with Others: conserving with Parsimony/Avarice, receiving with Greed, giving out of Generosity or Prodigalism. The different ways and feelings of producing and socially regulating the distribution of wealth have their mature feeling or virtue in Munificence.
