Abstract
This report examines the problem of recycling of juice through a diffuser and the location of the fluid plumes generated. We derive one and two-dimensional models for the percolation of sugar water through the bagasse. We use the two-dimensional model to derive an approximate formula for the amount of fluid in the recycle and to estimate the size of the `dry' region of the bagasse.
