Launching the first Cambridge AI in Education Summit

Cambridge University Press & Assessment is launching its inaugural Cambridge AI in Education Summit 2026 on 15-16 October, on the key theme of AI and Human Intelligence in Education.
The AI in Education Summit will consider the future of learning, assessment, judgement, cognition and educational responsibility in an age of transformative technologies.
Organised by Cambridge in collaboration with LOGOS – a University of Cambridge research initiative - the summit will bring together leading academics and representatives from industry, including organisations like Google and the Raspberry Pi Foundation. Key note speakers include Professor Johanna Pirker, a member of the UN's Independent International Scientific Panel on AI, from Graz University of Technology and the Technical University of Munich. Attendees will also hear from a high school student about the benefits and challenges of educational technology.
Experts at the Summit will explore seven key themes which sit at the heart of contemporary debates about AI and education. The overriding concern to be addressed is what education must seek to protect, cultivate and assess as AI becomes more capable and more integrated into learning and society – and how AI can enable human intelligence and lead to new opportunities for learning.

About the AI in Education Summit programme
With nearly 400 abstracts submitted from across the globe, the Summit has already sparked international interest. The packed two-day programme will kick off at 9am Thursday, 15 October in Cambridge, shining a spotlight on pioneering research and thought-provoking perspectives that are shaping some of the most important conversations in the education sector today.
The Summit’s Academic Chair and LOGOS founder, Professor Ann Kristin Glenster, said:
“Education is about far more than acquiring information; it is about becoming capable of reasoning, questioning, creating knowledge and exercising independent judgement. As AI systems become increasingly embedded in educational environments, protecting and developing these human capacities becomes ever more important.”
