Marc Neesam
Marc has experience in curriculum development and design, education policy review and creation, educational technology, teacher CPD, teacher recognition and resource development to support teaching and learning.
Marc has over 5 years of teaching experience, including school level subject leadership and school level curriculum design, alongside an understanding of the relationship between policy and practice in education through his experience working with national organisations within the UK on science education policy.
He has experience of positively engaging with a range of stakeholders, including providing teacher professional development, through 1:1 interactions, working groups, panels and presenting at local, national and international conferences. He has also led capacity development programmes in the field of curriculum reform, particularly in the Sub-Saharan Africa region.
In 2020, Marc worked on the development of the science curriculum framework which underpins the technology platform and support materials for the UNICEF Learning Passport project, a partnership between the University of Cambridge, UNICEF and Microsoft, which aims to close the ‘learning poverty gap’ that sees many millions of primary-level children failing to achieve minimum proficiency levels in their education.
Marc is also involved in the UK education sector by volunteering as a school governor at a local primary school and as an active member for the UK Association for Science Education, where he is chair of the International Group.
