Liz Friend-Smith

British and European history, medieval studies, history of ideas and political thought.

Publisher, Cambridge

I look after our British and European history publishing programme, from the early modern period to the present day, as well as our publishing in intellectual history and the history of political thought. My authors and series editors include Elizabeth Anderson, Robert Bartlett, Doris Bergen, Geoff Eley, Mary Fulbrook, Jo Guldi, John Henderson, Kennetta Hammond Perry, Quentin Skinner, James Vernon and Alexandra Walsham.

I commission a wide range of book types, including scholarly monographs, academic trade, textbooks, coursebooks, reference, student editions of texts (especially Cambridge Texts in the History of Political Thought) and Elements series.

I welcome book proposals in all these areas, and for all the series with which I am involved. Please contact me directly if you have any questions about publishing at Cambridge University Press. I would also be pleased to meet in person at numerous international conferences throughout the year.
