My commissioning spans the period from the Mycenaean and early Roman worlds to the end of late antiquity, proceeding on to the end of Byzantium in the late fifteenth century, and covers the entire Graeco-Roman/Byzantine worlds and their neighbours. It includes books on Greek, Latin and related languages and literature, all aspects of ancient history, ancient science and philosophy and Byzantine studies, as well as a growing list of titles on the influence of the ancient world on later periods and cultures down to the present.

I am keen to uphold the long tradition of Cambridge publishing some of the most cutting-edge and innovative scholarly research being produced. But I also actively seek and develop textbooks (undergraduate and graduate), synthetic books for students and general readers, text editions and commentaries both for scholars and for students (especially within the series Cambridge Greek and Latin Classics, and Cambridge Classical Texts and Commentaries), both scholarly and more general reference works, and the Elements series (our new primarily online series of ‘short books’) in all areas of Classics and Byzantine Studies.

I continue to develop our programme of textbooks aimed at students learning Greek, Latin and related languages, and am particularly interested in the provision of primary sources in an accessible form. I regularly attend the main conferences in both Europe and North America and am always happy to meet potential authors there.
