Economics, Finance, and Politics

Publisher, New York

I have been an editor for more than twenty-five years – in trade publishing at Penguin and Harcourt Brace Jovanovich, and for the past sixteen years in academic publishing at the Press. I publish books in economics broadly, seeking cutting-edge and useful research that contributes to the Press’s award-winning portfolio, both theoretical and applied: political economy, econometrics, methods, models, tools and techniques, economic history. I also commission political theory. I’m often looking for synthetic books, scholarly but with broad appeal that expand the circumference of research, of knowledge. More generally, I commission trade books across the social sciences.

We publish a number of prestigious series in economics: Econometric Society Monograph Series, Themes in Modern Econometrics, Cambridge Studies in Economics, Choice, and Society, Studies in Macroeconomic History, Historical Perspectives on Modern Economics, and Cambridge Studies in Stratification Economics: Economics and Social Identity, Institute of New Economic Thinking, et al. Around seventy percent of our books are standalone titles (not part of a series). My goal is to not only to uphold the Press’s reputation (the oldest press in the world) but to build on that reputation by publishing leading and award-winning scholars.
