Summary

She called me constantly, all the time she wasn't sleeping, she called me, then she meowed wah wah, she hammered, to change tortures we do exercises. Let's do multiplications: H. –2 times 2. È. –4. H. –Good. 2 times 5? È. –8. H. Division: 20 by 2. È. –10. H. –3 times 5? È. –? H. 5 times 3? È. –15.

She grabs me by the right arm:Where are you? H. –Where am I? È. –You’re far away. You’re taking the boat. I’m alone. Hélène! H. –I’m sitting a metre away from you. I’ll come closer. And now? È. –No. Are you coming closer? H. –I’m fifty centimetres away. È. –Where are you? It's a matter of coming closer internally, internal to solitude. È. –Wah, wah wahm. H. –How many times a day do you meow? Ève, with large brown eyes. –Many –Far too many. I do what I can. That's good. H. – What is the word you say most often? È. –That's good. H. –You do good work, Maman. È. –You see?! H. –Now I am going to work. È. –Shame. Rhymes with lame. Wah mwah wahm. You’re leaving? H. –No, I’m right close by. È. –It's not far?

In bed, that night. È. –I am lost. H. –Where? In a city? In a forest? È. –In a forest. Can you help me? H. –Do what? È. – I have to come back. H. –Take my hand. Follow me. È. –Out! Everything is outside. Far. Difficult.

È. –My head is far. Me, I am lost. What can be done with me? With old people like that. I found you again, my little darling you. My head is far. H. –We’ll wait for it. In what city are we? È. –It's Berlin, no? No, it's not Berlin? H. –No. Have you already lived in Berlin? È. –No. What city is it?

Elsewhere. È. –Don't forget me. H. –I’m here. È. –You are here and I am elsewhere.

È. –Help me. How do I get out of here? H. –What do you want? È. –I want to become like everyone else. Help me. I want to get out of this state.
