Tailored Interphases for High Strength and Functional Composites—Advances in Experiments, Simulations and AI-Based Design
MRS Advances is accepting full-paper submissions on Electronic Devices and Materials topics related to the symposium topic Tailored Interphases for High Strength and Functional Composites—Advances in Experiments, Simulations and AI-Based Design from the 2020 MRS Spring Meeting. Submissions, the review process, and the final decision are not contingent on presentation at the meeting itself.
MRS Advances publishes short papers that provide a “snapshot” of an advance within the field of materials research. Such work may include important early indications from a research project that has not yet reached a conclusion, or related results that are significant but not central to the goal of the project. The scientific methods and logic should be rigorous, technically sound, and of interest to other specialists in the area of research.
Of particular interest are topics in Tailored Interphases for High Strength and Functional Composites—Advances in Experiments, Simulations and AI-Based Design:
- Self-assembly and directed assembly of polymers, biopolymers, and colloids at ceramic and mineral interfaces (including graphitic, CNT, and BNNT based composites)
- Nanoscale confinement of polymers near interfaces
- Interfacial chemistry and reactions of materials to generate high strength
- In-situ nanoscale mechanics and atomic-scale interfacial mechanisms
- Atomistic, coarse-grain, multiscale, and AI models of interphases and composites
- Interphase properties in biomimetic and bio-inspired composites
- Advances in experiment, simulation, and artificial intelligence related to processing and property prediction
Manuscript Submission:
To be considered for MRS Advances, new and previously unpublished results significant to the development of this field should be presented. The manuscripts must be submitted via the MRS Advances electronic submission system by December 16, 2020. All manuscripts will be reviewed in the standard rapid timeframe of MRS Advances to ensure timely publication in the issue related to the submission topic. Please see manuscript preparation instructions, length restrictions, and the required template for submission at www.mrs.org/mrs-advances-manuscript-instructions. At submission, indicate Theory, Characterization, and Modeling as the topical area of your paper.
Please contact mrsadvances@mrs.org with any questions.
