Summary

Who are we? Are we ‘set in stone’ since adulthood or can we be malleable in who we are? Setting out to explore these questions in a work and vocational context, we hope to contribute to an increasingly recognised, dynamic perspective on human personality.

We are grateful for those scholars in personality psychology and organisational psychology who have inspired our interest in this topic. We also thank those individuals in our lives who either provide living examples of personality change or who have helped us to become better versions of ourselves.

This book is dedicated to academics, practitioners and students who study personality and its implication in the workplace. It is also dedicated to all individuals who are curious about how their personality can be changed by their environment, and those who make brave and persistent efforts in changing themselves.
