We evaluated the impact of the Epic antimicrobial stewardship module (EAM) on the number of interventions, antimicrobial usage, and clinical outcomes. Use of the EAM allowed us to significantly increase the number of ASP antimicrobial reviews and interventions while maintaining a sustained impact on antimicrobial utilization.

The influence upon milk production of changes in level of feeding and in proportion of bulky foods has been investigated, using all available experimental material.
The experimental results show that increases in level of feeding, to rates well in excess of conventional English standards, are capable of giving substantial increases in milk production (Fig. 1).
It is shown that physiological efficiency falls off as food intake is increased. A curve representing physiological efficiency has been constructed by taking account of changes in live weight as well as changes in yield of milk (Fig. 4).

1. In the Eastern Counties of England, annual wastage from milk recorded dairy herds amounts to 29·3 % of the number of cows at the beginning of the year.
2. Average length of productive herd life in milk recorded herds is 3·4 years.
3. Average length of total productive life in milk recorded herds is probably a little more than 4 years. Average length of total productive life in all herds is probably longer, and may be of the order of 5 years.
4. Deaths of cows are equivalent to 10·4% of the total wastage, and to a mortality rate of 3·0% of the number of cows at the beginning of the year.
5. During the three-year period 1934–5 to 1936–7, cows leaving the herd realized an average of £10. 10s. 6d. per head. The average market value placed upon heifers when they entered the milking herd was £20. 14s. per head, while cows for replacement purposes cost an average of £22. 5s. per head.
6. Of all replacements, 67·7 % are heifers, but not all of these are home-bred. In annual valuations, 49·0 % of cows are described as homebred, 50·6% as purchased and 0·4% as unknown.

The general characteristics of a group of thirtynine herds of dairy cows in the Eastern Counties of England, and the method of obtaining information about their diet during the winters 1938–9 to 1942–3 inclusive, are briefly described.
The first three winters of the war show a continuous decline in starch equivalent and protein equivalent per cow, followed by a recovery during winter 1942–3.
Comparing winter 1942–3 with winter 1938–9: Consumption per cow of concentrates declined by one-third, reductions in proprietary compounds and mixtures and in maize and wheat products being outstanding.
The more important increases were in oats, straw and succulent foods, notably mangolds, sugar-beet tops and kale.
Hay retained its important place with little overall change; a modest increase in silage was restricted to a few herds.
The crude weight of the average daily ration increased from 44 to 61 lb., but its dry matter only from 21·0 to 22·6 lb.
The residue: total dry matter less digestible organic matter—increased from 7·2 to 8·4 lb. per cow daily. Reference is made to changes in palatability.
