The spatial contexts of effigy censer and figurine molds at Mayapan, Yucatan, Mexico suggest a tightly controlled industry in which elite representatives of state government and religious orders exerted oversight over production and distribution. Attached artisans at Mayapan made these and other restricted goods for residents of palaces and patrons of the city's public buildings. The study of effigy ceramic production reveals that, like earlier, Classic period Maya kingdoms, Postclassic elites also sponsored the crafting of symbolically charged goods. This finding expands understanding of Postclassic period economic organization, which is best-known for its expansive regional market exchange. The limited distribution of effigy censers and figurines further attests their primary use in the context of state-sponsored ceremonies and, to a lesser extent, high-status mortuary settings. Unlike other places and times in Mesoamerica, neither figurines nor effigy censers are representative of household-scale religious practice for the majority of urban residents at Mayapan.

This review of selected paper and electronic resources on Native American art describes what is available at the Haskell Indian Nations University Library and Archives in Lawrence, Kansas; the Institute of American Indian Arts Library and Archives in Santa Fe, New Mexico; the H.A. & Mary K. Chapman Library and Archives at the Philbrook Museum of Art in Tulsa, Oklahoma; and the Billie Jane Baguley Library and Archives at the Heard Museum Library in Phoenix, Arizona. These four institutions develop and maintain resources and collections on Native American art and make the information they contain about indigenous groups available not only to their users and other scholars but also to the wider world.

Aims and Method
To assess what medication information long-term mentally ill patients required and acceptability of an advice service. Confidential consultations were offered by a community pharmacist at two mental health resource centres. The service was evaluated by patients and staff by questionnaire.
ResultsData were collected on 33 consultations (30 users; three attended twice). Mean duration of consultations was 14.9 minutes (range 5–45). Antipsychotics and antidepressants were most commonly prescribed and enquired about. Most drug enquiries concerned adverse drug reactions (n=24) and therapy choice (n=17). All patients and staff hoped the service would be fully implemented.
Clinical ImplicationsCommunity pharmacists represent an acceptable, but underutilised, information provision service. Such a service could be overseen by specialist psychiatric pharmacists. This study reflects patients' concerns about the use of antipsychotics and antidepressants and the need to address them. Further work is needed to determine the impact of the service on clinical outcome.
