Summary
This chapter discusses the question of Jewish settlement in North Asia from the early nineteenth century onward. Former criminals and their descendants turned into wealthy and proud people who looked down upon their poor brethren in the congested Pale of Jewish Settlement in the western part of the Russian Empire. Their wealth and role in Siberian life found architectural expression in the large and prominent synagogues, communal institutions and private houses that bore clear signs of their owners’ Jewishness.

Algorithms for checking subtyping between recursive types lie at the core of many programming language implementations. But the fundamental theory of these algorithms and how they relate to simpler declarative specifications is not widely understood, due in part to the difficulty of the available introductions to the area. This tutorial paper offers an ‘end-to-end’ introduction to recursive types and subtyping algorithms, from basic theory to efficient implementation, set in the unifying mathematical framework of coinduction.

The results of comparison investigations of structural and electric parameters changes in silicon systems induced by pulsed magnetic field (MF) treatment (PMFT) are presented for the first time. The characteristics of (PMFT) that can induce considerable parameters changes of the silicon system were determined. Amplitudc of thc magnctic impulscs is 0.1-0.3 MA/m and duration of thc impulscs is 10-30 ms. The investigations were carried out by means of scanning electron microscope (SEM), X-ray diffraction analysis, C-V and DLTS spectroscopies. The PMFT induces the generation of A-centers in the near-surface region of silicon, the changes of the crystal lattice parameter and the concentration of free electrons and results in emergence of an extent structural microdefects in subsurface. The obtained experimental data testifies that PMFT is possible to increase the vacancy concentration at subsurface region of silicon.
