Given a piecewise invertible map T:X\to X and a weight g:X\rightarrow\ ]0,\infty[, a conformal measure \nu is a probability measure on X such that, for all measurable A\subset X with T:A\to TA invertible, \nu(TA)= \lambda \int_{A}\frac{1}{g}\ d\nu with a constant \lambda>0. Such a measure is an essential tool for the study of equilibrium states. Assuming that the topological pressure of the boundary is small, that \log g has bounded distortion and an irreducibility condition, we build such a conformal measure.

This paper reviewed work to date on multicomponent oxides deposited, utilizing openatmosphere Combustion Chemical Vapor Deposition for electronic applications. Epitaxial barium strontium titanate and strontium titanate thin films were deposited on (100) MgO single crystal substrates. They were patterned to form interdigitated structures for electrically tunable devices, namely, coupled microstripline phase shifters (CMPS). The undoped, as-deposited perovskite dielectrics exhibited a figure of merit of 53°/dB at 20 GHz and 23°C, indicating high degree of tunability and fairly low loss. High-permittivity (ε=263), polycrystalline BST and SrTiO3 were studied for dynamic random access memory, and leakage current density of 10−7 A/cm2 was measured. Intended for non-volatile ferroelectric memory, lead zirconium titanate was deposited onto a seed layer of perovskite structure to prevent the growth of the unwanted pyrochlore phase. To function as buffer layers for superconductor applications, epitaxial CeO2, YSZ, SrTiO3, LaAlO3, Y2O3, and Yb2O3 coatings on single crystal and textured nickel substrate were investigated. Electronic analyses and characterization, using SEM, EDS, XRD, and X-ray pole figures, were presented.

The objective of this research is to develop the combustion chemical vapor deposition (CCVD) process for low-cost manufacture of catalytic coatings for proton exchange membrane fuel cell (PEMFC) applications. The platinum coatings as well as the fabrication process for membrane-electrode-assemblies (MEAs) were evaluated in a single testing fuel cell using hydrogen/oxygen. It was found that increasing the platinum loading from 0.05 to 0.1 mg/cm2 did not increase the fuel cell performance. The in-house MEA fabrication process needs to be improved to reduce the cell resistance. Significantly higher performance of Pt coating by the CCVD process has been obtained by MCT's fuelcell industry collaborators who are more experienced with MEA fabrication. The results can not be revealed due to confidentiality agreements.

The new, patented Combustion Chemical Vapor Deposition (CCVD) process holds promise for low cost, high throughput manufacturing of thin film ceramic coatings with composition and microstructure tailored for specific applications in electronic, optic, anti-corrosion and anti-wear applications. The flame-based CCVD process is an open-air, non-vacuum, environmentally friendly process with the ability to produce coatings of equal or superior quality to those produced by conventional vacuum-based methods. Capital and operating costs for CCVD coating systems are significantly lower than, for example, conventional CVD and PVD technologies. As an open-atmosphere process, ccvD can be easily implemented in a continuous production line environment, avoiding the need for vacuum load-locks. MicroCoating Technologies has used CCVD to deposit over 60 different inorganic materials onto a variety of substrates ranging from metals and polymers to ceramics. Multi-layered films of complex composition have been achieved with excellent stoichiometric control. We review the CCVD process and characteristics of representative coatings

Emile Mâle déjà avait noté comment, à partir de 1260 environ, les images de l'Enfant Jésus tenu par sa mère laissent progressivement apercevoir les genoux puis les cuisses du bébé. Dès le XIVe siècle, sa nudité complète s'exhibe, soulignée parfois par un attouchement du sexe, accompli généralement soit par l'enfant lui-même, soit par sa mère. Cette ostentatio genitaliuma été expliquée par Émile Mâle lui-même et par d'autres comme la marque d'un progrès du « réalisme » ou du « naturalisme » dans l'art du Bas Moyen Age et de la Renaissance, ou encore d'un essor du «sentiment de l'enfance », selon les termes de Philippe Ariès : de plus en plus, les artistes auraient voulu figurer l'Enfant Jésus sous les traits et avec les gestes, même les plus indiscrets, des petits enfants réels.
