Medieval European Coinage, a British Academy Research Project, is a major international reference series for medieval historians, numismatists and archaeologists which considers the European coinage of c.450 to c.1500 by region. Established by Professor Philip Grierson (1910–2006) to provide a comprehensive account of the coinage and written by experts in the field, each volume is accompanied by a fully illustrated catalogue of coins from the unrivalled collection of the Fitzwilliam Museum.
