Popliteal Vein

This popliteal vein demonstrates full compression throughout its course.

 

Full compression of this popliteal vein rules out thrombus at this location.

 

This popliteal vein is fully compressible and therefore rules out thrombus at this location. On a technical note, the depth could be decreased to maximize screen real estate.

 

Despite the fact that in the first part of this video there appears to be a thrombus in the popliteal vein, once compression is applied, the vein demonstrates full coaptation thereby excluding a thrombus at this location.
