1 I use the language employed by the author in referring to religious teaching orders. While some of the religious communities discussed in this book are orders in the Roman Catholic Church, others are considered congregations.

2 Although Canada is excluded from the study, O'Donoghue uses Canadian examples to support claims in the book.
