Summary
By the end of the 1970s Azzam had done really quite well considering his humble background. At barely forty years old he had a big house, a university job, and a leading position in the Jordanian Muslim Brotherhood. Soon after, in 1981, he would leave all of this behind for an uncertain future in Pakistan. Why? This chapter will look at Azzam’s career in the late 1970s and the events that took him to Islamabad.
